About me
my name is Karen Finkel
I am a Concept and Technical Artist working across game development, concept art, UI design, and 3D modeling. I move fluidly between technical systems and visual expression, building games from the ground up while shaping characters, environments, and interactive worlds that come alive in-engine.

Skilled in both Unity and Unreal Engine, I bring ideas from concept to fully functional results through creative design and technical problem-solving. My workflow combines traditional artistry and AI-assisted tools. AI, for me, is used not as a replacement but as a supportive instrument for ideation, iteration, and production efficiency.
I’ve also worked as a graphic designer for a theater production, creating visual backdrops and stage materials, and have collaborated with independent creative groups developing original entertainment content for television and digital media. These experiences taught me how to balance creativity with production needs and to communicate ideas clearly across different mediums and teams.
I’m comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, adapting easily to different roles while keeping the vision clear, communication open, and the process cohesive from start to finish. You can find a full list of my technical skills and software proficiency at the end of this page.
I hold diplomas in Game Development & Design and Concept Art & Development from IAC College, and a BA in Social Sciences and Humanities with a focus on Criminology and Law Enforcement, graduated with highest honors from the Open University and Beit Berl College. After completing my studies, I chose to return to what has always called to me most: games and art.
(Fun fact: one of my undergrad research projects was in criminal profiling, so yes, I can both analyze a fictional villain and design them.)
I’m currently studying Game Development with a specialization in Animation at HackerU (ThriveDX Global), where I’ve been studying since April 2025.
For me, creating games and concept art is a creative outlet where there are no limits and everything is possible. I believe in creating with intention, where every design choice tells something about the world or the character it belongs to. I aim to make work that stays with people — designs that are remembered, referenced, and felt long after.
